Badminton Court
Just like tennis and other racquet-equipped games, the sport of badminton also has the badminton court for its venue of battle. A badminton court is also similar to that of a tennis court since there is a net in the middle of the set-up and the players who play the game have to get the projectile over this net successfully.
Badminton courts are built to certain dimensions and measurements and these badminton court dimensions are often subject to official regulations to make them usable for official game play. You can play badminton on courts that are not actually built to these official specifications but this is only for casual play and not for tournament play.
You can get an official badminton court measurement from certain sites online if you are planning on building badminton court playing fields near your home. You can always download and print a badminton court diagram that comes complete with measurements for such a plan. The official badminton court size measures 6.1 meters by 13.4 meters, or 20 feet by 44 feet. You can reduce this measurement if you are only planning on building a singles badminton court. The size of badminton court for singles has a reduced width of 5.18 meters or 17 feet.
Aside from the total area needed for a badminton court, you will also need the other measurements that will complete your court. The official measurement for the net in badminton is 1.55 meters high or approximately 5 feet and one inch high on both ends. The middle part has a slight sag to it, giving it an official measurement of 1.524 meters or exactly 5 feet, just a mere inch from the measurements on both ends of the net.
Badminton court diagrams will show you just where the badminton court measure for each area is and this includes the measurements for the net height, the court divisions, the service line and other such measurements needed to make a true regulation size badminton court. You can also find pictures of badminton court samples that you can copy for your own court. You can also take an old badminton court you might already have on your property and refresh it with a little paint, a new layer of cement or new flooring and new court gear, like new poles and a new net to make your old court seem like new. After all, if you do a good job, nobody will really know if it's new or old.
